3.5 miles
1,300 vertical
24:53 up (Sanitas Valley/Dakota Ridge/East Side)
14 down S. Ridge to car at 4th/Mapleton
Went somewhat easyish to moderate today, up the valley to the first access trail to Dakota Ridge, up Dakota Ridge and up the East side. Took it easy coming down as it is starting to get dark at 5pm, enough light to see, but contrast is starting to get fuzzy. It will not be long till I need a flashlight for the descent. Hopefully the widespread paving/construction of all roads leading from work to Sanitas will end soon, I am counting daylight minutes now.
Flashlight? Really? Did not think that was really your thing.
ReplyDeleteSo you had to have been going up when I was coming down my second lap, were you the guy in the camo hat or the super lightweight jacket and cap?
ReplyDeleteGZ, seeing where I go is not my thing? Ha, no, I just have given into the fact that for a short while I will need a light to get off of Sanitas. Working 10 hour days does not jive well with limited Winter daylight.
ReplyDeleteTrailrat, I was wearing a light weight green Go Lite windbreaker, black PI hat, knee length green shorts, going not too fast. Where did we pass one another? Did you have the black lab pup near the summit?
That is what I thought. I was heading down the Valley when you were going up, about 1/4 mile or so from the bottom. I had on the white Collegiate Peaks shirt, white cap, and a 2 bottle Nathan pack around my waist. I wanted to do a third lap but did not have a light with me either.
ReplyDeleteTrailrat, yep, now I remember you exactly, I was passing a woman as you were passing us going down, between the "Dogs must be on leash" sign and the ditch.
ReplyDeleteWe should meet up some time. Always looking for running partners.
I am always up for going for a run. During the week I run kind of early which is why I never go to HHR. I usually start between 3-4 so that I am home to have dinner with the family. I may be a little slow for you guys but will give it a shot sometime.
