Finally attempted the double baby carry up Green today with Isabelle in the baby backpack and Amelie in the Ergo Baby worn on the front. For this trial run, we drove up Flagstaff to the Realization Point trailhead for just the upper half of the mountain via the Ranger Trail. Both of the girls did great and did not fuss once, so maybe next time we will start from the bottom (which I considered today, but was not practical with the dog and dog leash requirements).

Two kids and a dog? You must have got hit on by every chick on the mountain!
ReplyDeleteDamnit. You undoubtedly did that faster than I do "running".
ReplyDeleteBrownie, yeah, you guessed it, but they were all over 60 ;). One lady (the lady in the background of the first picture) was bragging about this guy she met who broke his leg in June and is back on the mountain, says he even runs the mountain in the Winter (in shorts no less). Said he looks like "Jesus".
ReplyDeleteSkatona, I doubt that, I went pretty slow, like 45 up and a similar time down with picture stops and stuff.
We may have found a way for me to be able to keep up with you! Nice!
ReplyDeleteI had to reread that. I thought it was 45 from the bottom while carrying two humans. When are you time trialing it this way? I want to vid that. Maybe we can get a cameo appearance from Jesus.
ReplyDeleteGZ, I think 45 up with just one baby (in the Ergo carrier) would be no problem, but the Kelty backpack itself is pretty heavy. Then add 32+lbs of baby, water etc.... it adds up. I think sub 1hr though is still doable, but I try to be really careful with this as I A). don't want to hurt them or make them uncomfortable in any way B). Don't want to tweak myself carrying 40+ lbs (have done it before backpacking)
