Allison, Sierra and I were able to finally coordinate with Dave and Kiefer for a nice hike up James Peak from the Moffat Tunnel on Monday. Prior to having kids, Allison and I would get out with Dave (and various other friends) and the dogs for mountain adventures, which seemed like almost every weekend since 2005. It had been over 3 years since we have hiked together and we did not miss a beat, was like old times.
Bushwhacking after ~4 miles of trail from Moffat Tunnel
Lots of small tarns and ponds on the way up.
Dave and I managed to hop all these rocks.
Allison gave it a shot
But decided to not risk getting her shoes wet
The dogs were happy to get in the water
Sierra's first high peak all summer, she was long overdue.
Getting a little tired on the descent, but still did great for an old dog
That looks awesome!
